Watch this excellent interview, as Minnie speaks about the disability employment gap and the opportunity for employers and New Zealand of employing skilled and talented access employees.
Minnie Baragwanath is joined by engineer graduate Jeremy Tarr to talk about the opportunity for employers presented by the untapped group of talented jobseekers represented by the access community. People with disabilities and access needs have the skills that 21st century employers need, however employers are missing out on a chunk of our workforce as the disability employment gap between disabled and non disabled people is a staggering 46.8 %.
Minnie reminds us that employing access talent is also a massive opportunity for New Zealand, as independent research by the Impact Lab has shown the social return on investment for businesses is $1:$4.80 This means every dollar invested in employment is a delivery of $4.80 of measurable good to New Zealand.
